The first rule of the kitty club is that no one gets to sit in this tub but ME!

Me and Beowulf are doing good... lots of bird viewing and napping by the AC dad set up for us. My birthday is in a week or so... I wonder if mom is going to try and fit more kitty furniture in here for us for a birthday present?

Momo's pink eye (yes we finally know what it is) is looking a little better... not as good as it should after four weeks. Mommy says she wants to take her to a better doctor next time. They are going to take her to the vet again on Wednesday, but to a different doctor... they wanted to take her to the better doctor, but they were booked solid and daddy was going to work the next day and her eye looked so bad they didn't want to wait the extra week it would take to get her to the vet (mommy doesn't drive and walking would heat steam Momo before she got there!)... they wish they took her to the other vet for her check up two weeks ago, though.

Momo is still very sick... the doctor tried saying that she wasn't taking her meds, which we are... truth is, this is the four time since we had her that she's been on this medicine and we haven't even had her a year. She might be growing an immunity to it.

He put her on other meds and I'm regretting taking her to that doctor in the first place, but it was the only day we would have had a ride out anywhere/ he was the only one taking patients that day/ she really needed it.

Bleh... we're throw her a party next week. Last week we got her a Drinkwell of her own (just one of the cheaper versions... the less fancy trickle one) and gave her the room by the window, so she can bird hunt while Beowulf and Buttons watch her and try to take her food... do I really need to keep them separated for FOUR WEEKS now? She still cries from being so lonely... I'm tempted to just put them all together, but then the other two might get sick, oh it's all so bad.

Beowulf is annoyed and Buttons just wants her sister back. Momo has finally accepted the motion of pill taking as part of life now... I'm going to give her some treats, I feel so guilty just thinking about it.

Maybe we'll combine Buttons and Momo's birthdays instead, hers is in a couple of weeks, so I don't see why not.

A bad month

The last month has been a bad one with the Wonder Kittens...

First, Buttons swallowed some string. A trip to emergency, a trip to the doctors a week later, X-Rays and lots of crying resulted in Buttons being ok. We still don't know what happened to string... we hope it passed and we just didn't find it (as much as we try, we're not the most observant of people). But, she's eating fine, not vomiting and was back to herself after her throat healed from all the projectile vomiting the emergency vets did on .

That was nearly three weeks ago.

A few days ago Momo's eye got infected. I've been very busy with my own issues (I had back issues with caused me to be unable to even get out of bed some days). I still don't know how it happened so fast... it's only in one eye though, so I think one of the other babies just got a little too rough.

She's still sick but recovering. The only problem is, we have to keep Momo from Buttons and Beowulf, making her very, very lonely. She misses her brother and sister dearly.

We've decided to celebrate Momo's birthday on the 27th, because we have no idea when it actually is (we got her early October and we're still not sure how old she really is because she was so malnourished that physically she looked months younger than she actually was, according to the decent and expensive vet we take her to now). I hope she's feeling better for a party.

The Adventure of the Secret Paws!

It's here! Our Secret Paws gift is here- it's so pretty! We could tell

if was for us because everything with kitties on it is for us

(including mom's big magazines, but that's going off topic).

Beowulf: Oh boy oh boy... what's inside? Comeon, mom, let us in!

Buttons: Oooo- look at all the fun crinkly paper... can we play

with that too?!

Momo- Woah, look at all the food!

Beowulf- Look at all the toys!

Butons- (waaaayy in the back) Can I have the box now?

Buttons- Silly mommy... that toy doesn't go on my head-

it goes in my mouth! Now have it here...

We love our pretty card too. Our Aunty Marri was

with us also and really loved it too!

Beowulf had a ton of fun going crazy with the bouncy balls...

and Momo is still eyeing that food.

In total, Smeagol and Strider gave us... a lot of things... Buttons
tried

to count everything and soon found out she couldn't count (the fact
that Momo and myself kept grabbing toys and putting them in our
hiding place didn't help).

We got... lots of Fancy Feast food, nummy cat treats, a whole lot of
crinkly and bouncy ball toys and these really cool swiggly toys that
are just the world's bestest things! And of course our wonderful card
and our new fun (and wonderfully decorated) box!

Up on the Monitor

The sun is out and shining brightly... the window is open with a breeze in the air. So why am I here atop of this big glowy box? Because we need to get our mom to get out from in front of it and play with us!

Also... in a completely serious note, we were deeply saddened to hear of Fig's untimely departure. We all wish your family well.

Merlin received his Secret Paws gift- we're glad he enjoyed it! This was out first Secret Paws and we hope to join in again as well!

It finally happened

I've been threating to do it for the longest time... everytime it was open I would try and get out, but today I actually did it.

Today I ran away...

today I ran away to the inside of the underware drawer.

Daddy was so upset- he had to take all the drawers a part to get me out of there. But I finally reached the promise land... and boy was it super!

It was also kind of dark too... but today I boldly went where no other kitty (in this house) has gone before!

Thank you to all our kitty friends who send good wishes to our mommy's grand daddy. Our two-legged grand mama has been very sad lately because her daddy is not getting better.

Life in Kittenland hasn't been good either... I've been fighting another cold for the past two weeks... momma was hoping I would get better on my own... so was I... but it looks like I'm going to have to go to the vet to get some tests done on me at the end of the week... I might have allergies. :(

We got our Secret Paw friend in the e-mail the other day! Momma picked up some things and hopes to send it out later on this week, once work and kitten scritches are had by all.

Buttons knows how to turn the fan on and off, so she is now in control of the room's temperature. I need to eat and take a nap now... I can hear my tum-tum growling...

We're so excited to be a part or Secret Paws! We cannot wait!

Momo just loves to play with daddy's stinky shoes, almost as much as she loves to play with daddy!

Mom is still working really hard, to make matters worse, she is feeling really sick and not to happy, Buttons is being cranky and we're all just kind of doing our own thing on our own today. Maybe later on we'll work up a good game of chase... I think we all just need a nap.

Grass and the no-fun blues

The grass mommy has been growing for us all week long was finally ready today. We got to bask in the sunlight from the big window next to the bed and feast on the green goodness.

I don't know what kind of creature that toy is next to me.. all I know is that mommy would wind up some stick on it and it would start kicking! Poor Beowulf ran away while me and Buttons fended it off. But it was I who defeated it, so it was my prize.

Anyway... mom is really busy starring at a large table with paper on it... she says it's "overdue work" and to not bother her while she's doing it... which of course meant that we HAD to see what she was doing- afterall, this "overdue work" was cutting into our scrtching time! Buttons was the bravest of all of us, actually scaling this odd stand-up type table to see what mommy was doing.

She says once she's done in a day or so we'll have her all to ourselves. Humph! At least daddy will still let us bite at his feet when he's in front of his computer!

Hopefully I can write about Beowulf tomorrow- or maybe he will do it himself!

Not funny!!

While going on our daily internet run, we found this picture mom must have doctored up... I don't quite understand why she did or why she thinks it's so funny, but my butt is not THAT big!

Buttons ate a piece of string this morning... daddy was the one who saw her do it and called the vet about it. The vet said to keep an eye on her to make sure she was'nt sick and so far so good.

Mommy gave her some butternut squash babyfood, lucky Buttons! And Beowulf got ontop of the fridge- we have no idea how he did it but it was so neat! Mommy got him down as soon as she saw, but later she said she wish she took a picture of it. Oh well. :)

I'll write more soon, possibly about Beowulf!

Me and mom watched the Puppy Bowl! Or at least she did... I only watched the Kitty half time show. Then I took a nap. After the nap mommy nipped us all and we had our own half time show!

Mommy says the kitty grass she's been growing all week long is just about ready... we'll probally get it for an after dinner treat! Num!

Getting things settled...

Outrage! We have'nt been able to blog in ages thanks to "Website" problems and "DNS" issues.... I don't know who this DNS person is, but I want them to stop bothering us and let us blog once again!

So where have we been for the past few days? Well, things have been quite odd around here, for starters, mom and dad bought home a stinky, sick, long haried little boy they named "Beowulf". I like him... sometimes... sometimes I like to play fight with him! He's fun to play with... he was from the mean streets, so he knows some cool moves!

Buttons... on the other hand... has'nt warmed up to him as quickly. At first, she would fight with him- and I mean REALLY fight with him, which made me sad... but, now we are all sleeping in the same room together, just not on the same bed.

Beowulf had this bell on his neck... mom and dad put it on him because he was still afraid of them and would run away from then and hide in weird places, the bell would help them hear him to make sure he didn't run away...

Well, today Buttons and I HAD IT with that bell, and ripped the safety lach off him and got that bell away from him!

It was a sweet victory, but mom and dad put it back on him... but we must have done something to it, because the bell is there, but the sound is gone (dad did something to it, but we didn't see...).

Buttons tried to run away the other day... she was afraid and could'nt find her way back in the house... fortunately mom found her and gave her lots of hugs and kitten milk for everyone!

Mommy and Daddy came home from the "pound" today, only they were very happy and were gone a long time! Then they went and took a ton of things out of the room and moved things around- oh no!

Mom spends a lot of her time in front of the computer... she says she does it so she can get us toys and food. I'm not sure I follow the logic about how one causes the other- but at the end of the day, when I'm on my super tall carpet tree, eatting treats, I really don't care.

But sometimes Mom spends too much time on the computer and stares a little too intently into it and not unto us, which is the cue for me to turn her eyes away from the glowing box and onto what's really important- me!... and sometimes Momo.

There's nothing more refreshing for a two-legged cat than giving us little four leggers a good scritching. :)

Dinner time!

Sorry for the missed day, dad was having trouble with their "website", I don't know the details, but then again neither do they. :P

Mom and Dad went to the "pound" today... something about adopting a little brother. I don't know too much about it, all I know is every time they come back from there, mom would be really sad because all the kitties there are too old because it was "disrupt the balance of our home", whatever that means... how can anyone be too old?

It was a lazy day. The folks went to see a "movie"- where they watch a really big tv - only with no commercials.

When they got home we get some of the good stuff to eat, the super nummy, super stinky goodness of tuna! Num- since Momo is getting a bit heavy we've been getting most of the crunchy stuff as of late. Stinky Momo, taking all the food AND making it hard for me to get the good stuff.

Hopefully tommrow I can get some more before Momo eats it all... we all have dreams.

Play Time!

Momma brought out the birdie on a stick! I wonder why it seems to only move when Momma is around...

Oh well, I'll leave the philosophizing to Buttons- all *I* care about is that it's out and I'm having a good ol' time attacking it!

And it turns out that Buttons' 6 month birthday was on the 15th. Opps. Poor mom is over-stressed and got her dates mixed up. Unfortunately due to our unexpectedly expensive vet visits over the past few weeks and the purchase of our super tall carpet tree, mom and dad are very much broke, so it was just as well that they didn't give her the birthday party...

They'll just have to make it up to her six months from now.

P.S. Mom and dad came home smelling of the "pound" today, I'm not sure what they were doing there- but I don't think they are up to any good.

Meant to post yesterday, but I've been so sleepy today, so was Momo. We got very playful by the end of the day. A little too playful for momma- I accidentally played behind her computer and made her loose all of her work. Sorry mom.

Sick Days

Buttons is in the sick jail! She'll be in the pokey till Monday.

Buttons is now home from the vet after getting "fixed". Funny- she doesn't seem any better- in fact, she seems to be more broken now! Her tummy is shaved and she has a big boo-boo and I can't play with her because of it! I really, really wanted to play with her too- I was crying all day long looking for her when she was away- I even kept up mom and dad up crying for her. My toys are not as fun when she is gone.

Buttons is spending most of her time in the sick jail, a 2x3 cage made of grid shelf parts. Mom wasn't expecting her to need it, so she had to make a quick one using clear sticky stuff to hold it together. Dad even bought Buttons a special one story cave thing just for her since she shouldn't be jumping around too much. Lucky girl! Mom lets her out to play in the rest of the flat every now and then but makes sure she doesn't get on the tall toys and tries to make sure I can't play with Buttons and have fun. >:(

I can't wait till Buttons is better, and quite frankly, I'm sure she feels the same way!

Introductions!

One of the first times we got along as a kitty family!

My first blog entry! First, it's time for a little introduction time!

First off, we are Buttons and Momo- two girl kittens brought together by our two-legged care takers. I'm Buttons, the beautiful gray kitten there. Since I'm such a smarty I shall be the one doing most of the writing (unless I'm sick, then Momo or possibly my two-legged mom may take to the keyboard)... I'm also the only one of us who has even tried my hand at typing (Momo just likes to watch cartoons on the computer :P). I came from a very large family of two momma cats and lots and lots of babies! Too many... I was a little smaller than the rest, but at least I got to go outside and play (unfortunately, I heard that a lot of my brothers and sisters died or ran away, poor things).
My human mom doesn't let me go outside, she says it's for my own good and tries to make sure I have a window to look out of in a nice tall space, but at the beginning I still wanted out. Now in days I'm happy with the tall window and so is Momo. Mom and dad thought I was a boy for the last five months, but when they took me to the vet to get me "fixed" (I wasn't aware I was broken!), they finally found out I was a beautiful, intelligent girl (not a handsome, intelligent boy :)!

I'm six months old now, or at least will be in 3 days! I hope mom throws me a party!

Momo's story, however, is a little more complicated...

Momo came from the mean streets of we don't know where. Mom found her in a scary place called a "pound" (it sounds quite painful to me!). She was sleeping most of the time mom visited her which made her worried because she didn't know what kind of personality Momo had. We found out it was because Momo was very sick with a cold. She seems to get them once a month- but at least they are getting less bad with each month. When mom and dad went to get Momo a week later, they left me all alone with nothing but my toys! Mean momma!

When they got Momo, they said there was a mix up with her gender... that she wasn't a boy, but a girl. This confused everyone, considering it was no mix-up at all... but oh well. Momo was really sick, her cry made her sound more like an old chain smoker than a two month old kitten and man was she SMALL! Mom only has one picture of her from the day they got her, because she looked so sick. The only one she had was from through the bars of the "Sick jail" where we go to recuperate when we are really sick. The vet said she had an eye infection, a nose infection and a bite on her back that was still bloody the day they got Momo! My goodness this "pound" sounds horrible! I never want to go there myself!

Momo and I were not the best of friends at the beginning. Mom though I was jealous, but she didn't get it- I was mad because another girl was here in the house! But after a week she sat us next to each other and I decided it was time to break the ice with her and groomed her ear. She really liked that and eventually we were the best of friends and we really miss each other when one of us has to go to the vets.

Mom and dad thought Momo was a month younger than me, but when they took her to a new and better vet, we found out she was six months old- the same age as me!

Well, that's how we all got together- and now Mom is letting me blog our daily adventures! We have a few back-logged stories to tell, so please enjoy!
